Registration for this fall’s Resident Academy will open on Thursday, July 31.
The course itself will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 21 from 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at the Savannah Recreation Center.
The Resident Academy was created in order to help educate community members about their local government in an engaging and interactive setting.
This program will teach residents about the history and benefits of districts; tour the North Sumter Utility Plant; obtain information on many district departments, including The Villages Public Safety Department, Community Watch and Recreation & Parks; and to help better understand the responsibilities and functions on The Villages Community Development Districts.
Residents can register online at districtgov.org under the Resident Academy tab. People can also register in person at one of the district customer service centers or at any regional recreation complex.
