The Lake Okahumpka Disc Golf Course is set to reopen next week after the completion of a renovation project.
Construction crews worked over the last few weeks to transform the 9-hole course into a full 18-hole course. Some new features include two baskets per hole, new golf tees, and concrete tee pads.
The course is set to reopen Friday, June 13.
“The expansion project supports Sumter County’s ongoing commitment to providing the most efficient, effective, and responsive services to our growing community,” said Freddie Fudge, facilities and parks manager, in a press release. “We hope the course improvements will encourage residents to get active and make memories at our park.”
Rankel Stillwagon Contracting partnered with the county to complete the project.
The course is located at Lake Okahumpka Park at 6085 FL-44, Wildwood, FL.
