Shelter dog of the week: Apollo

Looking for the perfect laid-back, low-maintenance pooch?

Apollo, a middle-aged, mixed breed dog, may be the perfect gentleman for you.

He’s known at the shelter for his calm demeanor, soulful eyes, slow tail wags, and desire to chill nearby a human companion.

Due to his chill temperament, the shelter thinks Apollo would do best in a calm household as the only dog so he can soak up all the love and attention. If you’re the type of person who wants easy-going company while reading a book, sitting on the porch, or simply during a lazy day, Apollo will be loyally right by your side.

All adoption fees are currently waived at Sumter County Animal Control. Animals adopted are vaccinated for rabies and other common diseases, spayed or neutered, microchipped, and have received heartworm and flea prevention while at the shelter.

Opie is currently with a foster family, so if you’re interested in meeting Pandi, contact Sumter County Animal Services to schedule a meet and greet with the foster.

The shelter is open Thursday through Monday from 12 p.m. until 6 p.m. at 819 CR 529, Lake Panasoffkee, FL 33585. Appointments only for Tuesday and Wednesday.
