Sumter County residents welcome to attend open house addressing traffic fatalities and serious injuries

Sumter County welcomes the public to an open house for the county’s Safety Action Plan.

The open house will take place Thursday, Aug. 14, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Wildwood Community Center.

The open house will launch the county’s efforts to develop a Safety Action Plan to address traffic-related fatalities and serious injuries.

Residents are encouraged to attend to learn more about the plan, meet the project team, and to share their thoughts and concerns about transportation safety.

“This initiative reflects our commitment to safer roadways for all users,” said Deborah Snyder, Sumter County Public Works Director in a press release. “Public feedback is an essential part of this process. We encourage residents to help shape the vision for a safer Sumter County.”

Any resident who can’t attend in person can participate through the project website and share their safety concerns via an interactive map.

The Wildwood Community Center is located at 6500 Powell Road, Wildwood, Florida.
