Identifying Battery Suspect in Bushnell

On Feb. 7, The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in Bushnell in reference to a battery that occurred on Feb. 6 at the Winn Dixie in Bushnell.

At approximately 10:50 a.m., an unknown white male, wearing black shorts, flip flops, a dark colored jacket and a black ball cap, entered the Winn Dixie in Bushnell and approached the customer service counter. The suspect was seen at the customer service counter for approximately 10-15 minutes, purchasing scratch offs and scratching them off at the counter.

At approximately 10:56 a.m., the victim came up to the counter. The suspect was seen waving the victim to go around him. As the victim went around him, she handed the customer service associate her lotto tickets. The customer service associate handed the victim back her lotto tickets, and the victim selected a scratch off from the counter. The suspect seemed to become agitated and made hand gestures towards the victim.

At approximately 10:59 a.m., the suspect grabbed his items off of the counter and then struck the victim in the left arm before exiting the store. He walked out to a white Ford F-250 utility truck with an unknown company logo and name written on the door.
