Blind Visionaries

On Oct. 6, “Blind Visionaries” will be shown at The Sharon L. Morse Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m.

A multi-media performance featuring photography created by the blind and visually impaired members of the Seeing With Photography Collective with original music by the Daniel Kelly Trio. “Blind Visionaries” is a stunning multi-media collaboration between innovative composer and pianist Daniel Kelly and The Seeing With Photography Collective – a pioneering group of blind and visually impaired photographers whose work is exhibited around the world. Using a process called “light painting,” the abstract photographs transport the viewer into a unique dream world of these surreal portraits. The captivating images are projected on screen while, through recorded interviews, the photographers reflect on their personal experiences with blindness and their personal descent into a darkening world. Daniel Kelly’s riveting original music was composed in response to these compelling stories and images. His jazz trio accompanies the multi-media images on stage. Audience participation includes creating a “light painting” during the concert that is revealed at the end of the show.

Tickets start at $38 per person and can be purchased at thevillagesentertainment.com.
