Boil Water Advisory in Marion County

On April 2, Marion County Utilities issued a precautionary boil water notice for people in the Pine Ridge and The Hunters Ridge communities due to a temporary loss of power to the water treatment facility.

Marion County Utilities advises that all water used for brushing teeth, cooking, drinking, making ice and/or washing dishes be brought to a rapid boil for at least one minute before use. Residents may also opt to use bottled water instead of boiling the water. Water used for laundry, bathing and/or showering does not need to be boiled.

This precautionary boil water notice will remain in effect until a bacteriological survey is performed and shows that the water is safe to drink. Marion County Utilities will test the water and notify customers by either door tag, emails, interactive community notification calls, media release and/or social media when the precautionary boil water notice is lifted.

Customers with questions should contact Utilities’ customer service line at 352-307-6000.
