As most Villagers know, The Villages spans through three different counties. Here are the number of new COVID cases as of Jan. 20, according to the CDC website.
In Lake County, there have been 6,412 new cases over the last week. 212 of those cases were admitted to the hospital, and 14 resulted in death.
In Marion County, there have been 5,526 new cases. 191 of those cases were admitted to the hospital, and 12 resulted in death.
In Sumter County, there have been 1,248 new cases. 71 of those cases were admitted to the hospital, and less than ten deaths were reported.
The CDC updates the number of new cases regularly, if not daily, and anyone can view the numbers by visiting covid.cdc.gov.
