As most Villagers know, The Villages spans through three different counties. Here are the number of new COVID cases as of Feb. 2, according to the CDC website.
In Lake County, there have been 3,599 new cases over the last week. 224 of those cases were admitted to the hospital, and 25 resulted in death.
In Marion County, there have been 3,958 new cases. 241 of those cases were admitted to the hospital, and 36 resulted in death.
In Sumter County, there have been 992 new cases. 61 of those cases were admitted to the hospital, and 12 deaths were reported.
The CDC updates the number of new cases regularly, if not daily, and anyone can view the numbers by visiting covid.cdc.gov.
