As most Villagers know, The Villages spans through three different counties. Here are the number of new COVID cases as of Feb. 9, according to the CDC website.
In Lake County, there have been 2,485 new cases over the last week. 186 of those cases were admitted to the hospital, and 46 resulted in death.
In Marion County, there have been 2,623 new cases. 196 of those cases were admitted to the hospital, and 42 resulted in death.
In Sumter County, there have been 733 new cases. 67 of those cases were admitted to the hospital, and less than ten deaths were reported.
The CDC updates the number of new cases regularly, if not daily, and anyone can view the numbers by visiting covid.cdc.gov.
