As most Villagers know, The Villages spans through three different counties. Here are the number of new COVID cases as of Feb. 16, according to the CDC website.
In Lake County, there have been 1,957 new cases over the last week. 150 of those cases were admitted to the hospital, and 39 resulted in death.
In Marion County, there have been 1,966 new cases. 159 of those cases were admitted to the hospital, and 38 resulted in death.
In Sumter County, there have been 571 new cases. 58 of those cases were admitted to the hospital, and less than ten deaths were reported.
The CDC updates the number of new cases regularly, if not daily, and anyone can view the numbers by visiting covid.cdc.gov.
