As most Villagers know, The Villages spans through three different counties. Here are the number of new COVID cases as of Feb. 23, according to the CDC website.
In Lake County, there have been 823 new cases over the last week. 92 of those cases were admitted to the hospital, and 35 resulted in death.
In Marion County, there have been 702 new cases. 106 of those cases were admitted to the hospital, and 45 resulted in death.
In Sumter County, there have been 348 new cases. 32 of those cases were admitted to the hospital, and less than ten deaths were reported.
The CDC updates the number of new cases regularly, if not daily, and anyone can view the numbers by visiting covid.cdc.gov.
