On July 18, the Resident Academy will be holding its next session at Savannah Regional Recreation Complex from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The Resident Academy is an interactive program to learn more about the local government.
This program is to help residents learn about the history and benefits of districts; tour the North Sumter Utility Plant; obtain information on many district departments, including The Villages Public Safety Department, Community Watch and Recreation & Parks; and to help better understand the responsibilities and functions on The Villages Community Development Districts.
Residents can register online at districtgov.org under the Resident Academy tab. People can also register in person at one of the district customer service centers or at any regional recreation complex. If anyone needs help in registering or wants more information, contact the district customer service center at 352-753-4508.
