On Sept. 21, members of The Villages BMW Z Club awarded a scholarship of $500 to Giovanni Vidales. Vidales is a student of Lake Technical College who has demonstrated dedication and commitment to the automotive repair program, according to his teachers. He accepted the scholarship and thanked the Club for their contribution to his education.
Club members had an escorted tour of the campus by Kimberly Frazier, the dean of students. The tour included the auto repair and collision shop. Members also had the opportunity to meet Giovanni’s instructor, Mark McKinney, who gave a personal tour of the automotive training facilities and shop.
According to Ken Bornstein, Pre”Z”ident of The Villages BMW Z Club, they plan on awarding a scholarship every year to a lucky student at Lake Technical College.
