Bushnell man arrested on felony child pornography charges

A Sumter County man who had already been arrested for possession of child pornography now faces additional charges.

Detectives with the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office’s Child Exploitation Investigations Unit began investigating Cameron Vesper, 33, in March of 2022 after receiving a tip that someone at his residence was engaged in child pornography distribution.

After conducting a search of the home, detectives seized several electronic devices, which were sent to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for investigation.

Following investigations, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Vesper for 12 counts of possession of child pornography. Some of the material seized included children under the age of 10 engaged in sexual acts, according to a press release from the sheriff’s office.

On Friday, deputies issued another arrest warrant for Vesper charging him an additional 15 counts of child pornography after the discovery of additional content on more devices.

Some of the material found included images of children under the age of two, according to the sheriff’s office.

Vesper’s 15 additional charges were upgraded to second-degree felonies due to the amount of images found involving children.

Vesper was booked at the Sumter County jail where he remains with no bond.

The sheriff’s office is asking anyone who may have additional information relevant to the investigation into Vesper to contact them at (352) 793-2621 or call Crimeline at 1-800-423-8477 to remain anonymous.
