On Mar. 1, the Mardi Gras Festival will be held at Lake Sumter Landing from 3-9 p.m. This event is free to the public.
Food stalls will be available at the event. Some of the entertainment provided will include The Villages Cheerleaders, The Original Villages Belly Dancers and Sugar N’ Spice. There will be various market vendors, and more are being added.
There will also be a Mardi Paw March, a Mardi Gras themed pet walk that will benefit Your Humane Society SPCA. The registration has been extended from Jan. 28 to Mar. 1. The registration fee is $25, which includes participation in the Mardi Paw March and a Mardi Paw Swag bag, containing a commemorative T-shirt, a dog bandana and more. If participants are registering more than one dog, it’s an extra $10 per dog. However, this extra fee only includes the dog bandana.
