Riley Huckaby Jr. | August 7, 1952 – August 14, 2021

Riley N. (Bug) Huckaby, Jr., 69, passed away on August 14, 2021, surrounded by his wife of 37 years, Amy Graef Huckaby and his children, Cory Philip Huckaby, Matthew David Huckaby and his wife Lauren.

Riley was born on August 7, 1952, in Greenwood, SC. He graduated from Eau Claire High School where he enjoyed playing several sports especially football. He was employed in several occupations but made his career as a pipeliner, first at Dixie Pipeline and later at Colonial Pipeline. He loved playing golf and tennis, especially mixed doubles with his wife. He took great joy in watching his boys participate in sports. He retired to The Villages, FL where he could play pickleball every day, golf with good friends, and listen to rock & roll music. Later he took up bowling with his wife and became an avid reader.

In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by his brother Danny Huckaby (Joyce), brother Jerry Huckaby (Gail), brother-in-law, Todd Jackson (Beth), and sister Leslie Miller(Mike). He is also survived by his nieces and nephews and his dog, Jessie Pearl. His father, Rev. Riley N. Huckaby, mother, Joan Hughes Huckaby, and sister, Julia Ann Jackson predeceased him.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Central Florida Clemson Club (please put “Funds for Food” on the memo line), c/o Jan Ledbetter, 1973 Ashwood Run, The Villages, FL 32162. “Funds for Food” supports food pantries in The Villages area. There will be a celebration of Riley’s life at a later date.
