Shelter dog of the week: Barkley

Barkley’s an old soul looking for the perfect home.

At the shelter, staff know Barkley for his fabulous energy and his desire to receive and give a healthy dose of loving.

While he doesn’t display the highest level of playfulness, he still enjoys strolling around the yard before running back for some scratches.

All adoption fees are currently waived. Animals adopted are vaccinated for rabies and other common diseases, spayed or neutered, microchipped, and have received heartworm and flea prevention while at the shelter.

Sumter County Animal Services is open Thursday through Monday from 12 p.m. until 6 p.m. at 819 CR 529, Lake Panasoffkee, FL 33585. Appointments only for Tuesday and Wednesday
