On July 30, at approximately 12:20 a.m., the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) responded to a call at The Damn Pub in Lake Panasoffkee. A shooting and death were reported. Upon arrival, deputies found Shaun Farkus of Oxford deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.
SCSO detectives are currently following leads and speaking with witnesses. Detectives are asking that any person(s) who may have witnessed the incident or has information about the incident to come forward and give a statement. A person involved has been identified and is cooperating with the investigation. There is no threat to public safety stemming from this incident.
