Early Morning Vehicle Accident in Ocala

On May 21, at approximately 3:25 a.m., Ocala Fire Rescue (OFR) responded to a two vehicle crash involving an overturned tractor trailer and a passenger vehicle with a driver entrapped at the 2400 block of NE 14th St.

Upon arrival Engine 5, Engine 3, Rescue 3, Squad 7 and Battalion 22 found an overturned tractor trailer and a passenger vehicle with severe damage. The driver of the tractor had climbed out of the vehicle before units arrived. The driver of the passenger vehicle was entrapped, requiring OFR personnel to use extrication tools to free them. OFR paramedics gave both drivers immediate medical aid on scene.

According to Florida Police Scanner, the tractor trailer was hauling potable water, so there was no threat to the environment. The drivers of both vehicles were transported by ambulance to local hospitals. The Ocala Police Department and Marion County Fire Rescue also responded.
