An active investigation is currently being conducted of a man that possibly jumped off of the Dead River Bridge.
On June 15, witnesses stated they saw the man jump off the bridge and disappear into the waters below. When officers arrived on scene, they located a pair of black shoes floating near the area.
Lake County Sheriff’s Office used sonar technology to observe any anomalies in the water.
Unfortunately, first responders located an unknown deceased male’s body. They’re working diligently to identify him and make contact with his next of kin.
No further information will be released at this time out of respect for his family and friends.
